Down the Hatch
I waited for a l-o-n-g time for this great egret to leave her perch. But, she wouldn't. So, instead of getting her in flight...she showed me this toothless sight.
After getting the mouth sight, I moved 10 feet away for a different angle. Then, it happened.
I felt a big plop,
and it landed on top. (Of my head.)
From high above in flight,
a bird let go a stream of white.
Here's the unfortunate scoop,
it was a wad of poop.
On the act, I don't want to dwell,
but it was a putrid smell.
It's tradition. Has to happen at least once.
The same egret is in my extra against a bluer sky.
