Arlington Row, Bibury
We didn't set out to visit Bibury. Janet decided we would drive up to Lodge Park, and so we did. It was, of course, closed. It's a simple thing to check the web pages, but we failed utterly. No matter, we decided to go a little further to Hidecote, but came across a lorry and a low bridge, and the bridge had clearly won. We ended up in Bibury...
Arlington Row is a regularly photographed scene, and even in the chill winds of February there were foreign tourists standing in front of every shot. Patience was rewarded though, and so here's a shot looking towards Awkward Hill, made interesting perhaps by the chimney smoke.
On the way back, I took the snoozing Janet into AV8 at Cotswold airport, where we had a reviving cuppa and watched the planes jog back and forth. So, a successful day of failures. And now I'm gazing with some trepidation at a huge map of Germany that arrived today. Plans, a little later than planned, are indeed afoot.
