The Amateur Photographer

Was sorting thru Boxes Of Stuff today and came across another of Grandpa's selfies! My maternal grandfather died over 60 years ago, but in his time was a very keen amateur photographer, doing all his own processing as well as taking the photos - in this case, a time-delay exposure.

It was an indoor photo and, judging by the strong shadows, I'm guessing he spent some time setting up suitable spot-lighting. A lot of thought must have gone into it.

As far as I know the magazine he's holding, that was first published in 1884, is still going. I have a feeling Grandpa would have loved digital photography and all the post-processing opportunities available. He might have enjoyed Blipland, too. Who knows?!
