The strength of a branch

Branches are fairly hardcore when it comes to snow. They do not need warm layers of wool or cotton to be fine with exposure to it. They stay out all night to be near it. They give it a place to rest before finally hitting the floor some indeterminate time after leaving it safe place up in the clouds.

That is the most impressive thing about the branches relationship with snow. Even the thinnest branch can hold a phenomenal amount of snow. It piles up high and so damn delicately that even a bit of wind can send flakes scattering from the top of the pile. But while the branch acts as a safe haven the snow will stay. The branch evidently loves the snow as much as the rest of us as it keeps as much snow as possible on show for as long as possible.

That's why branches are awesome. Because they are strong enough to hold as much snow as they can...and then a little bit more.
