We all survived Storm Dennis

A wild and ultimately wet day like the rest of the country. I hope that all of you are dry and safe despite all, especially in Cumbria, Lancashire and Yorkshire.

I was most surprised that today’s match went ahead although the visiting team was not the one we were expecting. The original club cried off yesterday afternoon and the team we see here also had their game go down and seeing as they’re nearby it seemed a good idea at the time.

I was watching one of our female referees. Very good she too was drawing praise from players and spectators alike. It certainly moderated the usual vocabulary heard on a rugby pitch. She didn’t stand any nonsense.
