The Lips Have It!
With the ridiculously early two minute scurry in the dark across to the gym for the obligatory 60 mins of raised heart beat, and then the equally obligatory recovery in bed while listening to the mellifluous tones of the presenter on Classic FM, I was up showered and dressed at 8am full of energy, ready to meet the world. Don’t believe a word of that last paragraph, but I was up and eventually ready to have my voucher’s worth of toast and coffee at Söderberg. I was surprised and delighted that Porty daughter joined me saving me from being the lady in the corner with the book and no pals.
My blip is of the French waitress with the amazingly perfect lipstick.
The sun shone and the wind howled about the high rises, as we chatted about ‘intervals’, ‘fartleks’, training routines, basal metabolic rates and how much of a calorie deficit one needs in intake in order to lose a pound of avoirdupois. It was almost enough to propel this elderly grandmother into the arms of a chunky KitKat. Instead, mindful of the stepmother of the bride dress already purchased, I managed to indulge in raw broccoli instead.
I did do a turn round the Meadows to test the wind strength and finding it altogether cold and unpleasant, I have retired for the day and the slippers are pleading to be put on. It seems a bit of a surrender to don slippers at 2:30pm, but Dennis has beaten me. He is the victor.
