Ben Ledi
A very cold day. Moisture on the road has turned to ice, and I don't think it's going to melt today. I take a short walk in before coffee and do an indoor ride before lunch. I try and take a few shots of the blackbird on the bush in the front garden, but there isn't enough light to get a sharp photo.
After lunch I walk up the Braid Hills, the pavements are still a little bit icy. From Braid Road there is a great view of Fife (Extra 1). The late afternoon is catching the Lomond Hills. There are quite a few folk out on the Braids. To the west, in the distance, the winter sunlight lights up Ben Ledi. The dark tower at the base of the mountain is the Wallace Monument several miles to the east of the mountain near Stirling. I head east and stop at a peak tot he east of the main summit to take Extra 2 of Saline Hill and Knock Hill being hit with the last of the sun's light. The eastern edge of the Ochils can be seen behind.
Then I head to Mortonhall for afternoon coffee and cake before walking home in the twilight.
