Not to be broken

Fired up by yesterday's success in hacking my first generation Apple TV so that it can now stream video_ts files straight from the computer they're stored on (rather than go through the tedious process of compressing them to H.264 and then loading them into iTunes), I spent the early part of the evening trying to repeat the trick with the little black Apple TV upstairs. I'd assumed I had the second generation, which is very jail-breakable, but it must be the third generation, which those hacker types have yet to prise open, so to speak. Shame, it works without a hitch on the first gen.

The rest was spent failing to make a connection to the office Citrix server to grab the tender that I'm supposed to be finishing. Instead it'll be straight to the office to get that done well before noon.
