A house, a monument and the white, white hills.
Another changeable day; showery, sunny, windy, chilly - just a normal day in Oban really.
I stopped off on the Esplanade this morning after driving down for a visit to the doc - the mountains of Mull were mostly obscured by cloud, but one little piece was in the sun so I lazily drove along until the elements matched up and took a picture out of the window!
The mountains are on the Isle of Mull, Hutcheson’s Monument is on the Isle of Kerrera and the house is on the islet of Rudh-A-Chruidh – three islands for the price of one! The aforementioned islet sold, with its new house and helipad, for just under £1 million back in 2016. You get a nice view of Oban thrown in!
Quote of the day: “If you have £1 million you can buy a house on an island near Oban.” Just joking – here’s the real quote:
Peter Fleming, ‘One’s Company’ – “With the possible exception of the equator, everything begins somewhere.”
