Strelitzia

We have arrived in Mijas, Costa del Sol for a break away from the UK weather. Getting to the airport this morning was an adventure in itself, we hadn't heard that the A38 was closed due to flood. The sat nav workaround took us down lanes with water lapping at their sides and at some point we had to cross the R. Trent after Burton. Several attempts met more roads closed then we had an opportunity to drive through the water. A Range Rover went through first so I thought my Discovery Sport should do it as well. It did but was the deepest water I have ever driven through. We made the airport and everything else went swimmingly ! 
Our villa has a garden full of these beautiful Birds of Paradise. Its enough to put a smile on our face before the holiday even starts.
