when in Spain

Our first day started cloudy so we decided to drive into Malaga and explore the city, something we haven't done before as we normally just head west from the airport. A  walk up Mount Gilbralfaro soon made us regret carrying a light jacket and lunch at he top saw the sun shine through. What impressive views of the harbour and city from up there (some in extra). The fortress and gardens had interest at every step. We descended and then enjoyed the very different Arab palace of Alcazaba and amphitheatre near the base of the hill. Lovely mosaic, arches and running water through the open courtyards and gardens. In need of refreshment we found a roof bar and blipped the best view of all of the Alcazaba with sangria in hand.
