End of the day

This was bed time, all snuggled up for stories.

Interesting first day. The ‘five minute’ journey to take the boys to their holiday club is a 1.5 hour round trip due to the bridge closure. We left the house at 7.30, got there at 8.25 having had to stop for one of the boys needing a wee - grateful for country lanes, although it so muddy I slipped, tore my skirt and spent the rest of the day with muddy shoes....

Really good first day, everyone was super friendly and kind. There’s a huge amount of work to do, but seems manageable.

Left work at 4.30 to get the boys, sat- man took me to a (very) flooded road, on the way to get the boys. Picked them up at 5.30, although got home at 6.10. The whole getting to pick up the boys was very stressful - mother and husband both had to deal with tears down the phone.

Very tired boys, but very happy, they’d had a craft lady in to paint things and are so proud of them, which is great. So my worries about them were quite misguided - and almost certainly based on desperately wanting to be with them as soon as I could at the end of the day!

Home, food, bath and bed within and hour.

Early night for me.
