Pictish Adventures

A joy to spend the day with Kay exploring some less well kent, hidden and secreted away standing stones and pictish symbols in the beautiful rolling foothills of Aberdeenshire to the north and east of Bennachie. I knew we were knee deep in stone circle riches up this way but when you really know where to look, the sheer number of sites out there is overwhelming. So many unanswered questions but so many sites being lost or overlooked. And on route to some of them we walked the edge of rich, claggy, newly ploughed fields yielding unexpected treasures from the past. Although not so great discovering the hidden dump of all sorts of crap by the farmer, humans never change...

Forgot how much i loved such adventures, and how great it is to share them with a like minded soul.
