Life in Newburgh on Ythan

Danger!

Another cold, windy, wet day. Time for another rant!

Unnecessary signage! Our streets are increasingly and unnecessarily full of what the planners call street furniture. Now it is creeping into the countryside as well. This sign has recently been erected on our beach by the Council. To the best of my knowledge only one dog, one belonging to a wild-fowler, has fallen foul of a seal, and so we get signs. This from a cash-strapped Council who can't afford to maintain the life-saving equipment that used to be deployed on our beach, the Council that can't afford to clean the streets, the Council that can't afford to fill the potholes on the roads, the Council that can't afford to cut the grass in the graveyards and children's play areas until they resemble silage fields, the Council that has made many staff redundant. I could go on!

What next, a sign instructing the beastly seals to behave themselves?
