Flower Friday : : Costco Roses
Although there were side effects for me from Wednesday's shingles shots, John who won't even look when he is being given a shot, didn't even have a sore arm. I was rewarded, however, by one of Costco's massive and beautiful bouquets of roses. I don't think either of us could possibly have predicted as we walked out of the pharmacy that I would have a low grade fever and it's attendant aches and pains for 24 hours, but John did the gallant thing anyway....There's probably some huge environmental drawback to having two dozen roses in the house in the middle of winter, but they were already there, in Costco...I couldn't just let them die...
I've had a running battle with Blake today attempting to make posole for guests for dinner without his help. One would think I would have learned by now not to leave anything unattended on the kitchen counter for even a second, but it is, after all, the kitchen. One has to cook in there.
The pork shoulder, practically locked in the slow cooker on the counter was safe, but the lovely smells emanating from it must have convinced him that Serrano chilis and avocados were worth investigation. He didn't like the chilis or the avocado but had rendered them unacceptable for guests by the time we found them outside. John has now gone off to the store for the second time today for replacements.
I hear John returning from the store...time to guard the avocados and chilis...though it is tempting to leave them out and see if he remembers that he doesn't like them.
Thanks to Biker Bear for keeping the Flower Friday challenge
going.
