TIME FOR TEA

A nice bright sunny start to the day, albeit very blowy and cold, it was still lovely to see that bright orb in the sky.  Sadly it didn't last long.  I'm not a summer person but I musts admit to getting a bit fed up with the stormy weather now, but I have to remind myself it is still only February.

Took G into Grange, parked up at Hampsfell Road Car Park, then walked down Pig Lane (I'm told there's a plaque there somewhere to do with Beatrix Potter, I must look for that some time).  Then on down Kents Bank Road, popped into our little Tesco, down Cross Street onto The Esplanade, where we proceeded to get blown about.  White horses on the sea and it was now very grey - but the views are still stunning nonetheless.  Then into Daisy Roots (our lovely little secondhand bookhshop), down through the Ornamental Gardens, which are looking very bedraggled at the moment.  Good to see a few ducks there again, some geese too.  Sadly though there are way too many seagulls there now.  There always was some but they seem to be in much greater numbers now.  I really don't like seagulls much.  Popped into the newsagents on the station (G was looking for a copy of the New Scientist, but none to be found in Grange anywhere).  Onto The Prom to be blown about.  Then back up Main Road.  This was only 12 noon and already the queue for The Hazlemere Cafe was huge, so we went on up to Thyme Out.  Which was very busy.  Had a lovely lunch then popped into The Country House shop for a couple of cards, The Foxes Den for a couple of presents (last day in it's current location, then on 29th February it will re-open next door to The Hazelmere (where the Penny Farthing sweet shop used to be).

The got blown away, hailstones etc on the way back up to the car park before coming home. Actually a very pleasant time around Grange.  It took us a while due to having to have several stops and rests (due to G not being able to go too far without having a dizzy spell).

Thank you for continuing to drop by, I will now go and catch up with your Blips as I missed going through them yesterday (I apologise for that).  Take care, stay safe and see you all tomorrow.

The photo is of Grange's Clock Tower.  I think I've blipped it before, but this is a slightly different angle and in the winter, so a little different.  |Had to find something good to  blip and thought this might be of interest.
