Spoonbills and other birds l have met

Yesterday was so windy - and rainy and cold, l had to buy myself a pair of gloves! We pottered about around the coast seeing lots of different birds but the greatest excitement for me was seeing the Royal Spoonbill wading just off the footpath. Head down, spoonbill shovelling about in the falling tide finding morsels for his supper he took no notice of me in my bright red raincoat waving my camera about frantically.
Further along we found big flocks of what l think were Stewart island shags, adults and adolescents standing together on the small beaches between the rocks.
