A place in time

Here's looking at you...

Well, it was a chilly walk down into the town centre today (and rather wet coming back up the hill to home).  First stop was the library to return two books and renew four others, then via the High Street where the annual Pancake Day race was taking place, compered by Peter Gordon from The Eagle Radio station, towards The Star for a cheeky lunch.  Afterwards, a quick shuft into the new Waterstones store, which was lovely and full of lots of enticing books, before a quick nose in the BHF charity store where we picked up three DVDs and the autobiography of Julie Walters.

Pic #1 ~ looking down onto the guys trying to clear the sand from the footpath along the river Wey after the recent flooding

Pic #2 ~ the wall feature in Waterstones and all I could think of was...think of all that dusting on those ribbed bars!

Pic #3 ~ inside the delightful Star Inn

Thought for the day:

"Don't suggest Rainey orders coffee after a delicious lunch and a glass of Malbec...when she notices that the dessert menu features Caramel-filled Churros with Ice Cream & Espresso!"  (Verbosa)
