Not every day

Dog and fish

Raki found it first - I noticed her rolling on it, as she tends to do with anything smelly. However, it was Huw the travelling chef who spotted (pun) its potential and (encouraged here by girlfriend Faridat) lugged it the several miles of our walk and back to the car. Where I insisted on the boot. Although my sense of smell has deteriorated in recent years, some things still get through. See Ceridwen's blip for more fascinating background, as ever.

Oddly enough, I just looked back through Huw's own blips (none recent) and found his very first one here. Same beach, and when we were there on Sunday, moments before we found the dogfish, he had said "This was where I found those adders years ago." Come back to blip, Huw!

It was low tide and a full moon, after a winter scouring of the sands, so the drowned forest in the neighbouring bay was more exposed than I've ever seen it (see extra, for just a section).
