Charlie Parker’s Yardbird

After listening to some of the music from this 5 yo opera, I wasn’t really looking forward to it.... I’m much less of a jazz fan than H, and I thought it shrieky pretty intense..... but seeing it made all the difference and I learned much about the “bird”s life in 90 minutes.... composed by a jazz saxophonist and written by a woman whose grandmother called Charlie Parker the devil , accusing him of her son’s death from emulating him and his drug addiction. 
A night view of the opera house ( on left.. ballet school on the right) with the phone.... extra is 2 min past curtain time... not exactly a full house.  That’s the dead Charlie on stage that is the start of the story.  2nd is the changing lighting by the opera house close up.
