Verdi and Ice

Another cold day, but at least it didn't snow. I took Dylan for a run on Shottery Fields this morning along Summerton Way. It was very icy and I had to hang on by my walking boots to stop slipping around. It was a lot easier on the field where there was still plenty of snow.

We went to the Silver Screen film at the Picture House, appropriately Quartet. I was surprised how busy it was, lots of oldies braving the elements and icy pavements. It must be the free tea and coffee.

It was an enjoyable film with some great music and excellent performances from Tom Courtenay and Maggie Smith, playing her now typecast role.

After we went to Nero for a coffee and then home to cook ourselves aubergine and goats cheese gratin for tea :-)

Today's picture - as I opened the bedroom blinds this morning I was startled to see a bright light desperately trying to break through the grey wintery sky. I've no idea what it was, but thought it worthy of a blip.

Late News: just watched Villa get knocked out of the cup by Bradford on Sky. I feel sorry for Tom who was at the match and had to watch the rise and fall of Aston Villa in the snow and freezing cold. He is a true fan though, and I doubt he'll be throwing away his season ticket just yet!
