Evan at Sauvie Island

Evan has been to the island a few times, as a baby, but he had no memory of it. I've been on a Sauvie Island jag for the last few weeks, so I took him today, and it was glorious. Bright sun, no breeze, no people. 

Evan: Can I throw sand in the river?

Me: Sure.

Evan: As much as I want?

Me: Go for it. You can throw rocks, sticks, anything you find on the beach.

Evan: Look, it makes circles in the water!

Me: Look at what the light does in the circles.

Evan: Wow! I've never seen anything like that before.
