True Selves
Struggled to think of a photo for today's Lent verse, John 1v (9-)12:
The Life-Light was the real thing:
Every person entering Life
he brings into Light.
He was in the world,
the world was there through him,
and yet the world didn’t even notice.
He came to his own people,
but they didn’t want him.
But whoever did want him,
who believed he was who he claimed
and would do what he said,
He made to be their true selves,
their child-of-God selves.
(Added the extra verses for context.)
Mike even went off the motorway to find a church for me, in such a rinky dink place that everyone stared at us (São João da Venda), but it was closed. We've brought Paul down to Faro for his flight tomorrow.
Anyway, went for a walk along the estuary as soon as we got here, sat on this bench to swig the G&T that Paul had prepared, and I thought, here is a child of a father, very much like him. It's a gift to have a Father we want to be like.
Gratefuls:
- safe driving, never take it for granted
- this fortnight with our son, that he likes being with us
- salmorejo for lunch, and other good things, in Villablanca
