Cypress Gardens
We started the morning at Cypress Gardens in Goose Creek. We thought to spend a couple of hours here so that we could venture to a couple more places but we ended up spending almost half the day. We enjoyed a guided boat ride on the lake at the gardens. It was so quiet and peaceful even though our boatman was telling us about the gardens. We floated under the white bridge in the collage as we made our way around the cypress swamp lake where we saw many turtles and two alligators as well as azaleas and other flowers along the shore. I took way too many photos of the reflections of the cypress trees in the still water. It was really hard to pick what photos to share but I wanted to show a variety of what we saw today!
Before the boat ride we walked through the butterfly garden where there were some little quail or something like quail roaming around as well as the butterflies. I put a photo of this bird in the extra but I have not yet tried to actually identify it. So if someone knows what it is, please let me know.
We had a late lunch at a local diner and then started on our way to our last stop before Diane flies back to Wisconsin. We did get to stop by an old church to take some photos of the church and the graveyard. (see extra) and also to go by Camden where we were able to pull over so Diane could get a photo of the Cornwallis house since it was too late in the day for a tour. We drove along the back roads which ate up the time so we had a long day. Again!
I asked a young man to take a photo of us and he kindly did! We are at the wedding gazebo at the garden were there are many flowers blooming now. See the extra.
Tomorrow morning we have a couple of hours before going to the airport but it is supposed to be raining. If not, we are only a few miles from a nature park where we can get a walk before ending our time together.
I have really enjoyed being tour guide and we have crammed so much in the last couple of days. Hoping to see Wisconsin this summer where we will swap tour guide status!
Thanks for any comments, stars and hearts on the photos from the last couple of days. Really hard to reply or even look at other blips. Hoping to do some looking when I get back to the normal routine!
