Fungi...

It was cloudy when we woke up this morning with a forecast of heavy rain on the way. We were hoping to get one last hike in before I flew home, so after breakfast we drove to the Greenway Nature Loop, where we hiked back in to see the old Grist Mill. We saw lots of different fungi on logs along the way, along with some blooming wood violets & bloodroot. Fortunately we took umbrellas along, as part way back the rain started, though the trees blocked a little of it. We just made it to the car before the big deluge started, so drove to the Waffle House for some coffee until it was time to head to the airport. I’ve got an hour to kill before boarding so thought I’d get my blip in early then pick up a sandwich for lunch. :))
