Red Whiskered Bulbul
Harry drove us along the road to Top Station yesterday and we kept stopping to look for birds along the way. We saw many different birds but had trouble remembering all the names!
He arranged for a guide today and picked us up at 6am. We drove to a high point and then walked through the trees seeing more different birds. At one point our guide had just pointed something out when a jeep pulled up and some very noisy Indian bird photographers leapt out ,shouting and gesticulating and pointing their cameras at the bird we were trying to see. Our guide laughed and told us that these people rush round taking photos and crossing species off their lists. They often make a lot of noise and are not terribly interested in the birds themselves.
The red whiskered bulbul is common and easy to spot. Extras of female grey breasted green pigeon sitting on her nest (she is very well camouflaged), Black Eagle and a very blurry shot of some photographers chasing the birds away :))
