A place in time

Bourne Mill is back!

Arisen from the ashes of the devastating fire in November 2015, it finally re-opened in November 2019.  Today was my first visit since October 2015.

The extra shows the new top on the building that had to be completely reconstructed - this was the seat of the fire, I believe.  There are many changes throughout the building, with some walls removed to open things up, a couple of stairwells blocked off, many walls replastered, all of them repainted, plenty of internal beams and floors replaced, with some areas still sectioned-off and receiving the final renovations.

Now, if that square glass bowl is still there next week I shall go back and get it!  Oh, and make time to stop in the Tea Room too.

The boys are having a wonderful time and I have been blessed to receive lots of messages and photos today.  Aww :)

I've just taken two halves of a sponge cake out of the oven, ready to offer cake to Mum tomorrow.  Now, time for my mushroom/plantain/onion/tomato creation for tea...and where's that corkscrew?

Hope everyone has had a good Saturday and keeping well despite the Covid-19 troubles worldwide.

Thought for the day:
