Birding day ...

I went to North Cave Wetlands today with my bird group (well - not my group exactly, as yesterday was the great flood disaster, so I gate crashed the Wednesday group)

It was very icy underfoot and I was glad to have my grippers on my wellies!

Fieldfare, redwing, redpolls, siskin, green woodpecker etc etc

And these goldfinch feeding on the teasels.

I was really surprised to see how these photos came out - they look heavily edited, but are only lightly cropped - it's an odd effect - I think I like it!
