Mrs Goldeneye

I set out in the afternoon for the train to Milton Keynes, hoping for a stunning blip of beautiful snowy landscapes out of the train window. Unfortunately my seat was beside a pillar with only an oblique glance out of a filthy window - pity, because there was some low sunlight illuminating the hills around Moffat beautifully. There was a lot more snow in MK than in Edinburgh and it was quite nippy.

When I was waiting at the bus stop on the Shore earlier, I saw someone small diving energetically in the Water of Leith - I thought it might be the little grebe at first, but took a photo and Mr H confirms that it's a female goldeneye.
