Stunning!

Well, I wasn't out of luck or inspiration today! Although the weather was much the same, warm but quite overcast, the wildlife was in full display.

We have at least three pairs of Great Crested Grebe on the lake at Trentham Gardens. This pair were guarding their nest from other birds. They turfed off a coot who would have thought it a good starting point, as their nests are high rise dwellings compared with the grebes.

Then they started the courtship. It doesn't always lead to this final crescendo, but I was lucky today. Right place, right time, right lens!
