Curlew #28
Up early today to take Mum to Clatterbridge for another treatment for her colitis. Since it would take all day, we went to Parkgate to watch the high tide. It was VERY windy, but this just helped to bring in the tide and the water came higher than I have ever seen it. This in turn gave the gulls and crows lots of opportunity to scrap over the mice and voles that seemed to be in a good supply. We also saw water voles and a stoat on our way back from lunch - I was surprised at how small it was, but of course I had left my camera in the car!
After lunch we went over to Leasowe lighthouse, somewhere we have never been before and found a nice pool with some curlew and redshank happily sleeping in the sunshine.
In extras is a shot of a great white egret and a heron which I also quite liked, even if the light was awful.
Had a call from Mum saying that she had a bad reaction to the treatment so it will take much longer than expected, so we came home for a few hours. We will head back to pick her up at around 8pm, by which time she will have been there 11 hours :(
