Today was our last full day in Johannesburg before moving on to spend our last two days chilling in a nice hotel. Having said that most of the hotels that we have stayed in have been very reasonable both in price and standard. We have only stayed a hand full of nights in what we'd call Backpacker places.
The final tick off Ros' list of places to visit was Nelson Mandela's Office. An Uber as always dropped off us right outside and we went to buy our tickets to find that the entry was free but donations were kindly accepted. The room outside his office contained memorabilia and displays similar to those  which we have seen in other museums so we had a quick look round admired what we felt was his homely office and commented that Nelson is always smiling in all the hundreds of photographs that we've seen of him.
We then caught an Uber back to the Art Africa Shop as I'd decided to buy one of the stretched Colonial Gentlemen. Ros managed to get a little discount so a deal was done. Getting him home was the next problem but for the time being that was forgotten as we went to the Michelangelo Hotel  for Afternoon Tea.
Our waiter looked after us well serving us a glass of Prosecco and tasty delicacies presented as usual on ap three tier cake stand with a bottomless teapot of specialist teas. We whiled away a good two hours taking it easy before our thoughts turned back to shipping the Colonial Gentleman.
We discovered that Emirates charge a fortune for extra check in baggage and that the South African Post Office charges even more. African Art had wrapped him in bubble wrap surrounded by cardboard which was ok but not done as well as it could be. So after buying two rolls of parcel tape and a roll of cling film we discarded the cardboard and bound the now named Nelson more tightly in the bubble wrap secured from head to foot by parcel tape. The poor old chap looked like a mummy.
A plan evolved that when we arrive at the airport we will wrap my case and Nelson together in the cardboard and bind the whole lot together with seventy five metres of cling film. Then Abracada we have one parcel which with a bit of luck should be under my weight restriction of 25 kilograms. It's worth a try so we will keep our fingers tightly crossed that things will go according to plan.
Having eaten so much during our afternoon tea and after wrapping up Nelson we took it easy in our room before turning in early for the night.
