Oh dear it's happened again we book a nice hotel with a pool and the weather takes a turn for the worse
It wasn't sunny when we woke but it was bright and warm so we could have breakfast outside on the terrace. During the morning the sun appeared so we went out to relax by the pool. All was good until half past two when the heavens opened accompanied by bright flashes of lightning and loud crashes of thunder. We grabbed our stuff and ran to the shelter of the hotel just in time to miss a soaking. We retired to our room for a cup of tea and a biscuit.
We didn't venture out of our room until around seven when went to eat. Our evening meal was OK but not a patch on the quality that we have been used to in South Africa. It seems the more you pay the worse it is and the meals here are nearly three times the prices we have been used to.
Still their party piece with the the steaming iced Belgian truffle chocolates was still a bit of fun and went down well with coffee and brandy in the lounge.
