Once upon a spring day in Bethlehem

Hey, I thought to myself, wasn't I in the West Bank in March 2014 about now? So I went back in time and found the small video I made from March 13th, 2014. (this is a screen capture of that video)

In a surreal moment I was walking in the rain through Bethlehem West Bank, looking to buy some waterproof shoes, and I came upon a small crowd gathering and waiting beside the road that had been closed off quickly.

Within moments a motorcade of 10 or 15 cars, trucks, ambulances etc. came shooting past us, with these two side by side. I asked an official looking gentleman standing nearby who it was and he replied, Prime Minister David Cameron.

Go figure. The things you see when traveling abroad, walking down a Bethlehem road in spring.
