Coronavirus Trumps

I found these top trumps in a drawer, some gift from the 2010s when disease outbreaks were something to have a light-hearted joke about. Well today coronavirus has pretty much won.

The friend we were visiting in Ethiopia has been advised to return home to Germany, putting a spanner in the works and a nail in the coffin. Ethiopia is not best set up for a healthcare scare, and it doesn’t seem very fair to potentially bring a disease out there inadvertently. Meanwhile Germany has bars/restaurants shut in several Bundesländern and roads are blocking up at the borders. Things are moving at an incredible pace, but I’m looking forward to movement in a better direction!
