Road Trip #3

Cape Cornwall was our third stop, parking the car and climbing out I am immediately faced with the The Brisons, the two rocks just off the coast looking magnificent in the sunlight.
Crossing the road takes you into the field containing the remains of St. Helen's Oratory, which date back as far as Roman times according to one observer, is a tiny early Christian chapel located in a field at Cape Cornwall.

An ancient cross with a chi-rho monogram was discovered on the site in the mid-19th Century, but was sadly lost. The current cross on the chapel is one that was found nearby.

My day was spent driving Joshua from home to Gatwick for his flight and then the always longer lone drive home, almost 580 miles but it gives me the opportunity to have five hours chatting with Joshua, not always as father and son, sometimes as friends.
