Don't Jump!
Slightly after 4:00 p.m. we decided to drive toward the pier, park, and just look at the sky, the clouds, the waves -- all of it. Two brave surfers were in the water. Then we noticed one surfer running toward the end of the pier.
Mr. Fun casually said, "He's going to jump in."
I asked, "Isn't that illegal?"
"Do you think he cares? Who's going to arrest him?" Mr. Fun replied.
And sure enough, not long before he reached the end, he turned to the railing, threw his board over, and then jumped up to the top of the rail and waited for the next wave and jumped.
Mr. Fun explained, "He didn't want to have to paddle-out through the waves. It's lots easier to just jump in right where he wants to be." And that's exactly what he did.
Rain has happened here most all of the day, so the sky was what we had gone to the pier to see; we got more than we bargained for!
That's it for today from the pier at Cayucos on California's Central Coast,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun, and the three pooches), aka Carol
P.S. Today's story -- the two of us wandered into San Luis Obispo. We found some great buys in the Goodwill Store, the hospice thrift store, and stopped at Trader Joe's for some groceries. The three pups -- Chloe, Mitzi, and Max -- stayed in Cayucos at the groomers. They are now clean, fluffly, and smell lovely.
