Where to hide your stockpile....

All the photos I had taken today were rather glum of bereft shelves, so thought I should post something more cheerful.
This belonged to my gran and grandad - there is a male and a female which my uncle sent me. I am guessing they must be for vodka, as wine bottles are too tall! 
I think this is quite old,  as I remember them from my childhood. So probably over 40 years old.  it says made in the USSR in English  on the bottom, but no factory name or date, so I’m thinking it must have been sold in the hard currency tourist shops.
