MONO MONDAY - MAN-MADE

We woke to another beautiful day with the sun streaming in and decided to go out for our walk, as usual earlier rather than later, before Mr. HCB went into the garden and greenhouse.

We had a lovely walk, admiring the gardens and trees on our way and only met a few people.  However, we did move away when we saw people walking towards us - bearing in mind the two metre social distancing instruction from our Government.  I don’t want to single people out, but it is obvious that many runners don’t think they need to observe this - do they think that their speed as they run past will make them immune?

We called into the garage for milk and newspapers and when we got home, I was amazed to see in the paper photographs of people on beaches, in parks, climbing mountain paths and also queuing in supermarkets - again, do they not understand how much two metres is?  I think the Government might be taking far more serious measures if people don’t do as recommended.

I have been keeping in touch with several friends via WhatsApp, FaceTime and Text messages and in that way, perhaps we will not feel quite so isolated.  I am especially keen to keep in touch with those who live on their own - because although Mr. HCB will be out in the garden and greenhouse all day, at least he will come in for meals and we can then communicate face to face, which isn’t an option for those who live alone.

On our walk, we came past the Spotted Cow pub where the “man-made” climbing frame looked eerily lonely with no children about - especially on a beautiful morning, although I know it’s a Monday and they wouldn’t normally be there anyway.  Here is my offering for Mono Monday together with an inset selfie - we decided to go incognito today wearing our sunglasses, which are also "man-made"!

We couldn’t get the milk we wanted at the nearby garage, so I sent a text to our neighbour, Sandra, who was obviously out and she got us some, bless her;  it was left on the doorstep and wiped down well before we put it in the fridge.  Thank goodness we don’t have to drink black coffee or tea.  Of course, I guess the answer might be to get our own cow and chickens in the garden, but not sure that Mr. HCB would be happy about that!

Hope you all stay safe and well.  Don’t forget 2 metres = 200 centimetres or 6.562 feet or 78.74 inches.
