Perm 1 from 74
Keswick, apparently, dispenses with its Thursday market for a few weeks at the turn of the year.

A good day was had nevertheless. Herself decided we'd head in the general direction of Friar's Crag. Part way there she said "Let's see if we can look down the lake from over there." So ... We went, and you could.
As ever it's a flight from the sublime to the cor-blimey. I tend to either have choice of 3-6 taken "Just in case" or lotsanlots, 74 in today's batch: including 633 (Goose squadron) coming in to land. They can be seen twixt us and "Derwent Isle".
What we had failed to notice, on previous Thursday visits, is that the remnants of the old "Half-day-closing" system still holds good in some of the smaller, lower-staffed shops.
Anyway we managed to escape with a couple of yer actual, genuine "Cornish Nasties", and a Yanky-looking hat like a knitted beanie with a peak. It serves the dual purpose of, both keeping the old lugs warm, which neither the summer shaped hat nor the winter shaped hat do and it keeps the old lugs warm.
We dropped in to Southwaite services last week with the express purpose of grabbing a couple of boxes of tiny mints from Costas©. On the way back to the car we passed a name, something like "The West Cornish Pasty Company".
"Let's take a couple home."
"Go on, why not."
"How much? We can get them cheaper in Keswick including paying for the petrol." and we did, literally about half the captive audience M6 South price.
