UK Lockdown
People staying at home will reduce the risk of infection from an infected person to others from 406 other people, after 30 days of wandering about as normal, to just 15 people. Worth it. My friends in Scotland who were, until today, attending health board meetings, law firm partner meetings, playing golf in foursomes and going en famille for a weekend away, are now at home. My, often emotionally difficult, conversations with them to persuade them to get ahead of the curve and voluntarily stay home before being told to do so by the government, hopefully, are no longer necessary. They were, nevertheless, conversations at the frontier of reality, where our life's illusions are blown away and we get real with ourselves and between ourselves, confronting what's important in life and the consequences of our actions. The best thing is that our relationships will be stronger because we stood together, loving each other, at that frontier.
