Distance Mother's Day

Our innovation for our guests this season was a large, laminated city map of Barcelona to spread on the table and orientate them to where our home is in relation to the rest of the town. So, Mummy Russian Doll is on our wee passageway and Daughter Russian Doll is on Plaza Catalunya, the very heart of the city, with the Ramblas running from there down through the Barrio Gotico to the blue-coloured port. The green area in the foreground is Montjuïc where the Olympic Stadium is. The black symbol to the left/behind Mother Doll is Camp Nou, the home of FC Barcelona. There they used to play a game called football with two teams of eleven men kicking a white ball about and trying to insert it between a set of three planks of wood known as goal posts. The game proved quite popular in the previous age.
