Salix caprea
A Red Admiral fluttered through the garden this morning, bringing my species count for the season to five. Not long after I heard that UKBMS has decided to suspend all butterfly monitoring until further notice which is rather depressing for me and came on the back of Sussex Butterfly Conservation cancelling all work parties and events. Understandable of course. I shall do a garden butterfly count instead. Anyway, by the time I'd got my camera the Red Admiral had gone so here instead are some of the catkins on the goat willow that hangs over my back hedge from the field (soon to be housing estate) behind.
