Multitasking

Monday 23rd March 2020

Backblip

It was full steam ahead again today, trying to create Resource and Information Pack Nr 2 for those with no internet access. All the time I suspected we were likely to go into lock down, I just hoped I'd have another 24hrs.

This was about lunchtime. One person, two desks, two laptops on the go and a tablet. Following a webinar with one ear, the photocopier going crazy in the other ear, production in process on one laptop, emails on the tablet, messages on the mobile, completed piles on the tables, constant interruptions as people came to the window and needed to talk etc. I love multitasking. I worked as fast as I could.

Had to pause at 3pm for a scheduled meeting, attended by a number of our PCC - via video link of course. It was a laugh getting everyone on as most had never tried that before. I also think some thought they were on their own at home and forgot that we could all clearly hear their mutterings! :-))

Back to the office afterwards. I attempted to film myself leading some services, which I had planned to put on DVD so those with no internet still had someone in their room praying with them. I gave it my best shot and thought I'd got two done. One worked well, unfortunately the camera decided to change its focus part way through the other and it's no good. The outtakes though should be funny. When I have a moment I will collate them into a short clip and circulate it to give people a laugh. It will be called "How many goes does it take for a vicar to light a candle when being filmed!"

I didn't get my filming finished and intended to return tomorrow morning to complete it. Got home and watched the Prime Ministers Ministerial Broadcast. The UK has gone into lock down with immediate effect. These packs will remain on the table for now.

Life as we know it has changed.
