It pays to garden!

I went out to tidy up the front garden this lunchtime and a gentleman in a car stopped and asked if we needed anything from the village shop as he was heading there.
Some skimmed milk and eggs, please!
He arrived back 10 minutes later with two bottles of milk, one to use and the other for the freezer, and half a dozen eggs!!
He wouldn’t take any payment and it appears that he lives down the road!! I’ve previously met his wife, but never seen him before. I do speak to his cats!!! It made my day that he did this for us :0)
Later on I met another neighbour and she has dropped off contact details and said they are there to help if needed.
People that we have had little or no contact with in the 4+ years that we have lived here are making contact.....very reassuring.
We do have R, but she is 20 minutes drive away.
We managed to get a click and collect for the 11th April, so we might manage to last out until then with our supplies.
