It's not all rainbows

A lot of today shes been incredible. She was worked so hard in school at home. She did maths, reading & comprehension, art. She's done two bassoon practises, conditioning, two ballet classes. We had a gorgeous time playing in the garden. We cycled for 50 minutes in blissful peace. It started to go a bit wonky though when we tried to go near the Beck. People weren't keeping distance, there wasn't space to get away. She said "I just want to go home". A spectacular meltdown occurred. She ended up sobbing under a blanket in a room til she was ready for cuddles. Feeding her often helps these things so I gave her a very early tea. We facetimed my goddaughter and one of her sisters, which was fun.

We said goodbye to them in time for her to get ready for the second ballet class of the day and the second bassoon practise. She's got a fab movement of a Hurlstone sonata and she absolutely loves it. She's also started her first ever complete concerto. She's very excited. Normally, when it's time for video calls with her friend, she's itching to get on to it but tonight she actually wanted to do more bassoon before. However, when they did call, they had a glorious hour doing their #frommywindow rainbows together.

Sleep didn't take long. She's being very Katie about it all but it's exhausting emotionally, isn't it...
