Wednesday: Last Year’s Weeds ...
... today’s compost!
A year ago this end of the garden was covered in yellow dead nettles, top right in today’s blip, they were allowed to flower, for the bees and other insects, then thrown onto plastic sheet, folded over & bricks to keep everything in place. Today I’m using it to plant up pots of potatoes - Rocket (earlies) & King Edward (main crop), just a few but hopefully a nice treat in few months time.
Many honey bees on the Jersey Walking Stick Kale this morning - https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2686711815408192965 also bumble bees. Birds are busy building nests and eating a lot less. Pheasant still making a nuisance of himself ...
Weather perfect, warm and sunny around 16°C.
Repotted Calendula and the smallest leek seedlings. Larger leeks planted into the ground near the greenhouse. I was out for about 3 hours, working slowly and steadily, tired by this evening...
Stay healthy and happy everyone :-)
Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
