Snake Heads

I seem to have collected a number of potted Snake's Head Fritillary, and at the moment they are in full bloom.  So this morning I set up the "Garden Studio" to take some portraits.

The "Garden Studio" comprised a patio table, pieces of white card supported in homemade holders, clamped for stablity.  The plants were positioned with a dark background of shrubs, and backlit by the morning sun,  with fill-in light provided by the white card.  The camera was on a tripod.
