Male Great Spotted Woodpecker (Dendrocopos major)

I am afraid that while we are in lockdown my blips are going to be repeats of things available.  Fortunately for me (perhaps not for anyone dropping in on my journal) birds never cease to attract and please me.

Very little to say as i have never been (obviously)beyond the garden and was a little worried this morning as I thought I might be developing  a cough.  Fortunately a false alarm.

This blip is the male Great Spotted Woodpecker (again).   I still haven't heard any drumming which is strange, by now standing in the garden I would expect to hear them every time.  The UK population is around 130,00
