Interior Kirkby Stephen parish church.

We needed to dash to one of the suppliers we use for Amber Nook.  The result was we were wandering round Kirkby Stephen after lunch.  We have over time blipped many of the points of interest in the town.  I like old buildings so I decided to have an experiment at an interior shot.  No tripod but fortunately a convenient font.

I find the church interesting from a number of points.   The first I didn't think to look to see what it was called.  The internet has it as St Stephen's? and St John's.  The second is that it is the only church i have come across which is used by C of E & Catholics.

Interestingly places with Kirkby in their name date back to viking times and the word means village of the church (or word to that effect).
